STORY

Warbear was purchased for 65,000 guineas through agent Edgar Byrne at the 2023 Tattersalls December Yearling Sale.

He arrived into Niels Petersen’s yard at Øvrevoll during the spring of 2024 and won on his debut in the Goffs Futurity Stakes at Klampenborg on August 3rd, sprinting from last to first.

He was just as impressive on his next appearance, finishing strongly into 2nd in the Svealandlöpning at Bro Park.

Warbear is by Rathbarry Stud’s Kodi Bear (pictured), winner of the Group 2 Celebration Mile at Goodwood, the Group 3 Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury and Listed events at 2 and 3, as well as placing 2nd in the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes in Newmarket.

The colt is out of Abbey Angel, a 4-time winning Arcano mare, who has already had two winners from three runners including Santa Anita’s China Doll Stakes (Listed) winner Lucky Girl and five-time winner Grigadale.

Furthermore, Abbey Angel is a half-sister to Listed scorer Dusky Queen, Group 3 placed Achnaha and Listed placed Gifts Of Gold, from the family of Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes winner Albabilia.
